The courses are scheduled to begin in September. They include two certificate courses.

 

Home Inspection is a 51-hour course that covers all aspects of the home inspection profession and prepares students to take the ASHI-approved NHIE examination; and Home Inspection Report Writing, new to the industry, is an 18-hour course covering all aspects of home inspection report writing for home inspectors and those wishing to work in the industry. Both courses include an onsite class and are offered on Saturdays or during the week.

Home Inspections Preparing for the Inspection

Here are some ways to make your home inspection go smoother, with fewer concerns to delay closing.

1. Make sure the inspector has access – not only to the house but also furnaces, water heaters and air conditioning units (especially in closets, attics and crawl spaces).
2. Remove items blocking access to HVAC equipment, electric service, panels, water

heaters, etc.
3. Check to see the garage is open and that any water heaters, utility panels or shutoffs and resets for Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) within are accessible.
4. Unlock areas the inspector
