Important Update: Please note that Governor Perdue, on May 30, 2007, signed Senate Bill 115 into law affecting former deadlines as follows:

Examination exemption applications will be accepted at this time provided that they are officially postmarked by the United States Postal Service no later than July 2, 2007.

Licensure will be required for the practice of contracting in Georgia effective July 1, 2008.

View additional changes to the law at www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2007_08/sum/sb115.htm .

If you do not qualify for examination exemption and wish to pursue licensure by examination please click Examination Information for details.

Each application for licensure must be reviewed by the staff and/or Board to insure that the application is complete. Applicants lacking information will receive a deficiency letter from the staff. Applicants who are approved for examination exemption or examination will receive written notification of such.

Please review the Board Rules and our Frequently Asked Questions for help in completing the applications. Please note, we cannot decide for you which license type for which you must apply. You must determine this by reading the definitions found in Georgia Law or by comparing the various license types and applying the definitions to your scope of work. If you still have unanswered questions, please call 478-207-2440.

Currently, the Board does not reciprocate with any state.
